Specialist Alternative Education Provision for Years 10 & 11

Welcome to Mindset Sports & Learning Academy

A structured and supportive alternative provision designed specifically for Key Stage 4 students who require a different approach to education.

We combine vocational learning, sport, mentoring and personal development to help young people re-engage with education, improve wellbeing and work towards positive future pathways.

Our provision supports schools, local authorities and families by providing:

  • Small group learning
  • English and maths embedding
  • NCFE vocational sport qualifications
  • Boxing and fitness programmes
  • SEMH and mentoring support
  • Attendance and behaviour intervention
  • Careers and employability preparation

Who We Support

We support Year 10 and Year 11 students who may:

  • Be at risk of suspension or permanent exclusion
  • Experience poor attendance or disengagement
  • Require SEMH support
  • Struggle within mainstream classrooms
  • Benefit from vocational and practical learning approaches
  • Require additional mentoring and emotional support
  • Need structured intervention before Post-16 transition

    All placements are carefully considered to ensure our provision can safely and effectively meet the young person’s needs.

      Specialist Sports & Boxing Programme

      Our sports programme has been designed with input from Team GB Olympic boxing captain Tom Stalker.

      Sessions are designed to engage students positively while developing transferable life skills.

      All staff:
      • Are recruited in line with safer recruitment guidance
      • Receive safeguarding and Prevent Duty training
      • Hold first aid qualifications
      • Are trained mental health first aiders
      • Work within clear safeguarding procedures and professional boundaries
